I am frustrated with mine also. They have the dreaded "chirp", and it does not seem to matter whether I use a canned map from Dynojet or if I use the custom map a tuner made for me when I had it dyno'd.
I helped a couple of friends with their installs, one on an '04 Ultra and the other on an '07 SG. The '04 Ultra has the "chirp" like mine and the '07 SG doesn't. None of us are using the same map as we all have different engine and intakeconfigurations.
The "chirp" does seem to sound differently (louder) on concrete pavement than it does on asphalt.
I am just about ready to go with a V&H system if I can't find another solution...
I had the RH true duals on my 2006 SG. Took them off w/in 6 months due to chirping and the black tips turning purple. Went to the D&D Fat Cat 2:1. Love the sound, fit and finish. Everyone who sees and hears the Fat Cat is impressed and envious. Good luck!
Called my dealer/tech yesterday and told them that my 1 tip (right side) was begining to turn a little purple. Theymentioned reseating the baffles also, something about creating hot spots which caused the tips to change colors.
Son has the TD on hisRoadglide about 3 mos now probably 3000 milesand no problems. See how they do on this trip but for now they is a sounding good.
