I am looking at getting a rider backrest for my bike. I looked on the Harley website for the mounting kit. Not the adjustable because I can not see the benefit of the extra cost but they do not list my year. I have a 2011 ultra. Can u not get one for this year?
I am sure they do. Beware that I just bought one for my 2012. I can not get it to adjust back far enough for me. I probably should have bought the auto adjust one. I think it will recline a little farther than the rigid mount.
You can adjust the backrest to the angle you like while the seat is off the bike. You can also flip the bracket 180 degrees before you insert it into the bracket on the bike which changes how close the backrest is to you. Finally you can flip the backrest pad over, while riding, if you feel like you want to really stretch out for a while (its like having no backrest at all.
this is a the kind of thing that hits the classifieds fairly often- check around.
the H-D is ok, but could be better- there are adjustments which can be made to the backrest and a couple of nuts which if they work loose make it floppy and sloppy.
the pattern on the backrest can be chosen to match Hd seats
although I hate krapkin- I would take the time to compare to the H-D, krapkin may be better.
That is what I bought. But because I changed the handlebars I am now farther back than the adjustments will allow. So I will cut and modify the bracket to see if I can get it in a comfy position
