I have a 92 ultra that needs motor work. Found a 94 dyna motor-is it a direct bolt in or does the inner primary or primary guts need to be changed? Will it bolt to the trans? I've heard theres differences in the motors but don't know about the mounting pattern. Thanks
The part number for a set of new 94 dyna cases is 24571-93; the 92 ultra has four possible parts, one being 24571-92.
The S&S Evo Style motor fits all: http://www.jpcycles.com/product/711-971
I would suspect they all mount the same. You may have to transfer your motor sprocket to the new motor.
this touring section is full of us ( me) old guys who forget stuff and need a soft cushy ride.
because...I can;t remember if the 92 or 93 was the head breather and the relocated oil tank.
AFAIK the evo should swap right in.
Mike
Hey,I changed the seat and pipes on my '06,all by myself!! But I do know that 93 was the first year of the oil tank under the trans.Good advice tho, sending him to the EVO section.!
Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. We have members who have swapped the later trans to early Evos, so someone over in the Evo section should be able to help!
