Thanks everybody. I can't work on it until this weekend. I bet if I go to the battery, that aftermarket bastard battery has corroded terminals. Then I'll check that throttle body. I had trouble the 2nd year with the TBW. I had to put dielectric grease on the connection because the bike kept going into safe mode. There should have been a recall on that. Quite a few people had that same problem. Once I did that it never acted up again.
It's weird because my last trip got me 48 mpg. That was before the new spark plugs and air filter but after the new gas filter.
I'll let you know what I find this weekend.
The slow crank can happen anytime.

I checked the battery to see if the terminals were corroded and they looked fine. When I checked the battery for voltage...11 volts. Battery isn't even a year old. Piece of crap.
I heard Harley batteries are made by Deka. Deka wants $118 and Harley $185. Anyone familiar with Deka?

i just went through this, the best deal is either the Big Crank or the Mega Crank from batterymart.com
both are under $110, both are sealed AGM batteries. i believe the Big Crank is made by Deka.

The last Big Crank battery I bought from Battery Mart actually came in the factory Deka box. It's the same battery as the HD one also, just different stickers on it and much lower price tag.
I had the same issue with my battery. Hard starting "sometimes". Eventually I found the battery dead a few times, thought i just forgot to put it on charger. Had to replace it.
Does it make a hard banging sound sometimes when starting? Does it make a lot of racket at low RPM's?
Maybe your compensator? Or your starter clutch?
Mine would bang sometimes when starting and would bang at low rpms. I replaced the starter clutch with an All ***** starter clutch on the starter. No more banging. My next target was the compensator but the stator went. When the tech got inside he said it looked fine. Havene't noticed and banging at low rpms since. Maybe the bolts just needed to be retorqued??
