Is the Yuasa GYZ 32 HL a sealed battery ? About 10 years ago I had a non sealed car battery leak acid and cause a lot of damage. I make it a point since that incident to only buy sealed batteries. If the Yuasa is sealed and the post design is good I will probably order that battery for $132.00. Can anyone confirm my two questions ? Thanks
Heavy duty terminals, sealed maintenance free battery
I decided to go a head and order the Yuasa GYZ32HL from Phat Performance. In case anyone else is considering this battery I can confirm the total price was $132.95 with free shipping and no tax. Thanks everyone for your comments.
I think what you will find is that jumping your battery stressed your charging system and blowed up you VR and stator.
any one bad part (battery, vr, stator) can take out the other 2
the load placed on the charging system by a duff battery, along with running the bike and lights, can exceed the capabilities of the charging system...leading to failure.
a dead $100 battery problem can become a $600 charging system problem...
if the charging system system changer is stupid and uses air impact tools, then the damage will be repeated within a few weeks.
seen that a few times
Mike
I know it was my fault for frying the system but I wanted to let the OP know it was a good battery to survive a complete drain, then over charging and now low charging. I would have charged the battery first instead of jumping but I discovered my stupidity at the office at the end of the day. I wanted to go home.

Mine is a Duracell, 2 year warranty, walk in , walk out, at Batteries Plus.
I don't like the idea of excessive downtime if a warranty issue happens.
Been a couple of years, so far so good. Factory original lasted 4 years.
My daughter works at a Batteries Plus. I would have gone there had my bike not already been on the shop for a rebuild. The Duracell they sell has a two year full replacement warranty and I could have gotten her employee discount. I think the dealer warranty on their batteries is only 6 months.

And, the HD Dealer batteries are high as giraffe ears! Most bike batteries are just one year warranty. Two year warranty is very rare on those batteries.
Incidentally, I asked who makes the Duracell battery - "East Penn, of course" was the salesman's answer...

Just wondering if you took a couple mins to check out/read the info on the Yuasa battery in the link i provided?
1 more time/ LOL!
Yuasa's GYZ32HL/500cc battery is their most advanced top of the line maint free factory activated AGM battery which answers you question.
When a motorcycle battery is activated @ the factory (filled with acid , charged & tested) that right there tells you it's a sealed AGM battery thats ready to go when you buy it .
It has heavy duty terminals too.
But i always rec topping off the charge of a new battery prior to install and or 1st use which is important.
