A friend told me all His torque wrenches are right hand models. I told Him if He lays on His back when He uses them, they become left hand wrenches!
Always glad to help a fellow out!
Harbor Freight might not be most accurate but I'm not building rocket ships either. They are guaranteed accurate within a certain % and have lifetime guarantee. A FOOL and his money is soon parted. Why spend more just to have big name tool is foolish if your not making a living using them. Most backyard mechanics would never wear one out. No different than oil, lift or anything else as long as its within what specs you need why pay more.
rscott: We all have a different standard that we apply to "good enough". If HF torque wrenches are good enough for you, then good 'nuff!
I responded to your statement that HF torque wrenches were "quality" tools, and that's factually untrue. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE HF. That place is like candy land for an adult male that likes to work with his hands, and also works on a budget. I fall into both categories. That being said, some, if not a lot, of what they sell cannot be classified as "quality". Fact. A perfect case in point would be their motorcycle jacks. I don't think there's one guy on this forum that would call it "quality". Is it good enough? Sure....for some, me included. But "quality" (?)....no way. I use mine infrequently for that reason. But for you to take this into the area of supposition, and imply that it's a fool who spends more money on quality tools betrays your ignorance.
I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt; you're smarter than that.
Yes, the old saying (is true for the most part) as some things are over priced: You generally get what you pay for!
Common sense plays a huge roll, if you lack it, ask a professional what he suggests. Taking the cheep way out, may or may not work. But ask your self, if you own a Harley, buy quality parts, shouldn't you maintain the same for your tools bro?
Remember, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink!

If you guys think Harley means quality you have never owned a Honda Lets agree to disagree on how much quality is necessary
If you guys think Harley means quality you have never owned a Honda Lets agree to disagree on how much quality is necessary
My response wasn't about the relative quality difference between a Harley and/or Honda. I am however, more than happy to agree that we all define "good enough" differently when it comes to the level of quality we expect in a purchase.
No problems here....it is after all, your bike that you use your tools on.

Nope, don't believe you understand what we are trying to establish here, my problem is never giving up on a person. In your case will make an exception.
Wish you well, PEACE!

typical forum. I ask a legit question. I get some good answers directly answering my question. Then, I get pages of immature, internet arguments over what? Some people like HF tools, some don't. Just leave it alone. You're not winning any arguments.
I can't wait for Winter to be over so ****'s can get out there and ride again.
