Default Road King Front Signal Inside Allen

I'm getting ready to change over to bullet front signals, is there any secret to getting the inside allen off or just take 1/4 turn at a time?

Thanks!

secret, don't tell anyone.

what ever size allen it is...you can use a hacksaw to cut off a piece and turn that with a wrench.

like this pic is for a 1/4" allen like as used on the tranny end cover, handlebar clamps...and other places.
for a 1/4 you can even use the butt end of a screwdriver bit.

if you needed a 7/16" allen like for the oil cooler adapter plate, you use the head of a bolt...turn the jam nut with the wrench- this same concept will work for any size:

That is a 1/4 in ratcheting combination wrench? Where did you get it/what brand?

To obtain your "nearly free" sent of Craftsman ratcheting wrenches, proceed as follows:
First, hint to friends and family that you want the set for Christmas. There is a 10 piece set that gets you 5 SAE and 5 Metrics. Make sure they get the Craftsman and not their off brand. You will then go to Sears after Christmas, you apply for their credit card and they give you $20 or $25 off your first purchase. Assuming they still do this. You can buy the bigger wrenches one at a time. You are charged the difference and get a shiny new credit card. Cancel it the next week after you pay it off. Now you have to wait 90 days to re-apply. They go back and do it all over again. It doesn't hurt your credit score much if any. In a couple years, you have a 20 piece set for nearly nothing. It takes time and patience buy well worth it. I hear Sears is selling off Craftsman so I am not sure if it will work any more. It was fun each time I got one nearly free though.

Oh, and as far as the light bar, I just sat and watched football and turned it 1/4 at a time until it was done. Stupid design.
