Default 2017 Ultra computer problem ?

Hi Guys I went to collect my 2017 ULTRA from the dealer today , again? yip agin !
The bike was supposed to be ready on Friday 2.00 . But the sales man "forgot "to tell the work shop ,so my bike wasn't ready and all I got was SORRY MAN.
OH DEAR thats a bit shitty ! kind of screws my week end doesn't it .
HEY BRO SORRY !
So sunday Icollect my bike from the dealer.
Eventually I get on the road to go and celebrate with my buddies .
YAHOOOOO Cruising down the high way cruise control on, tunes
Aw life perfect , sun, cool breeze, new bike . You get the picture ?
At a Traffic light . bikes idling at 3000 rpm ????? switch off ,switch on 3000rpm ,check cruise control on , OFF . So back to the dealer after 5 miles ? yip 5 fffffing miles

They plug in the computer and check the bike .

Throttle body plate doesn't return to idle . With the computer they can reduce revs , But as soon as they remove the computer the revs jumps to 3000 .

Ah says the service manger , did you use cruise control ???
Ja!!!!! sure did .
WELL YOU SHOULDNT USE CRUISE CONTROL FOR THE FIRST 1000 MILES.Didnt you read the manual !!!!! WHAT MANUAL ????
Well you've gave blown the ECU
?????? uuuurrrrrrhhhhhhh ???? what ??? I did nothing "your honor", just used cruise control
WELL we need to order a new throttle body and will phone you when your bike is ready .?????????
Oh! can we order UBER for you ??????

you guys can add the rest of the story . while I sit with out my $29000 harley
JUST SAYING

Interesting piece of customer service.

Please update after the "cure"

( of course if the bike had been ready for delivery on time- and you;d expect a dealer rep to walk through any such items they feel will destroy the bike in the first 15 minutes...)

Hmmm. Read the breakin procedure on my 2015 street glide when new, don't remember seeing that? What DOES your manual say? I'm calling BS.

AND, if this is something new with M8, dealer should have mentioned in your orientation before releasing the bike. They DID do an orientation didn't they? If not, it's ALL on them.

I'm guessing ............ just guessing .............. the "dont use cruise control" is a related to the need to vary your RPMs during break in.

Obviously you can use CC briefly, and still vary RPMs.

That's about the biggest load of **** I've ever heard. I have had many new Harleys and have always used cruise control breifly before I had one thousand miles on the odometer.

A ****ing uber i would of rolled a new ride rite off the showroom floor and said this is now mine until I get the first one fixed. The only they recommend not using cruise control is so the rider can vary engine rpm's. Its not because it will break something if used too soon. What a crock of ****................

I've run the cruise before on test rides to make sure everything was working. I cannot believe anyone working within 10 miles of a dealership would make that statement?

Good luck I hope they get your issues resolved soon.
