Congrats man! Always right when you buy simply what you like. They call it Custom because it is just cool.

I have an 07 FLHRS, love it. I added Wild 1 Chubby Mini Apes, the std. RK windshield, and with Stage1 / Download / Slip-Ons it really runs great.

Ride safe & often.

I too just love this bike. im about to buy my first harley as well. Origionally I was totally set on a custom but people told me i was too big (6'7" 255lbs). So I had made up my mind on a roadglide, but im still in love with the custom. Is this bike toosmall for a guy my size? I know the bars are definetely wrong for me , but a set of mini apes or bars without a pull back could solve that problem. Also, most of my riding would be around town or quick 20 mile rides into work(city). Whats your thoughts guys?

I have a 04 Custom and an 07 SG. Bought both new and I like them both. The custom has a 95 ci big bore kit with SE high performance heads. Have put over 19,000 miles on it and it is great on the road. Of course I added the detachable windshield and cruise control along with other options. It's a great bike. Had intentions of selling it after I purchased the SG but just can't seam to part with it. Might have to reconsider since it seams I have been riding the SC all the time and the Custom is just sitting in the garage. I personally like the lowered look and feel of both bikes. So you can't go wrong with either bike. Give each a ride and makeyour decision. Touring Bikes are great.

bigdogg, I am6'1" and weigh, roughly, 350 lbs. I love my custom, and after adding apes, I have no problem with the size of the bike. The stock bars, put a burn in my bike, but other than that, I love it.
