Default Seat replacement

I have a 2012 Road King with the stock seat. I am 5'10" with a 31" inseam and can barely stand flat footed at a stop. Which seats do you recommend that will get me a bit closer to the ground?

if you don;t much carry passengers, i like the streetglide seat.

the 11+ version has a narrower nose which helps get the feet down, but the 09/10 version has a sleeker rear section ( less padding).

for me, the SG seat is good for up to 4 hours, painful at 6.

although boots with thick soles rather than running shoes can be a fix too.

You can always lower the bike if you like the seat you have.

Save yerself some $$$. I was taught to put your left foot down and keep your right foot on the board or peg. I find I have a lot better control of the bike when leaving a stop. The guy who taught me was a police motorcycle instructor and motorcycle cop. Try it before you lay out your money. I'm 5'7" with a 29" inseam and don't have any trouble with my stock seat and 2013 EGlide.

I specifically looked for a new seat that sat me lower than the stock seat and after a lot of trial & errors I finally found & am totally satisfied with my decision to go with C&C Seats. Great company, customer service and not one issue to date. The seat is very comfortable for long hour rides and it looks fantastic.

Been riding for over 50 years and hardly ever been able to flat-foot! It's over-rated. If at 5' 6" I can manage my Glide, you have size going spare to manage your RK! As suggested, start at the ground and work up - look for sturdy thick-soled boots.

Mean City Cycles in N.C. will rework your own seat to get you more flat footed.
Quick turnaround and fantastic customer service.
Give them your specs and send your seat to them.
I used them a few years ago and had my seat back within 7-10 days.

Maybe too much work for you . I had a friend in the business redo my seat by removing the back rest slot allowing me to go back and down as the frame is lower as you go back. I then installed pullback risers with a street slammer cover to bring the bars closer. Probably picked up an inch lower. This also gave me more of a back rest.
Sorry I'm not real good at explaining stuff, hope you get it.
