That's who I got my warranty from.

In fact, the difference in the cost of the 4 year HD plan and the five year HD plan was less than $200.00. One should consider the bigger picture, especially if you plan to keep your bike. And, of course, it is prorated in the event you get rid of your bike you are refunded the remainder of the contract.

TheGrandPoohBah, where were you able to get 5 years HD warranty for less than twice the cost of 2-2 year policies with Cornerstone?
Currently Cornerstone offers 2 year at $998 if out of factory warranty and model year 2006-2013. You can get a 6 year tire warranty for $375. So if you do 4 years (pending price does not go up) with 6 year tire comes out to $2371 at cornerstone.
5 years coverage with tire through HD comes out to $2679. I went into HD today and got their pricing.

It also looks like Cornerstone changed their policies in the past few months as Now there is a $50 deductible but they now cover, towing, rental reimbursement and lodging reimbursement. I priced them out a few months ago and there was no $50 deductible.

I agree with you that if I go HD for 5 years, I would hopefully surpass the 25,000 mile mark and then I'd go to cornerstone where HD charges more once you get to 25,000 miles.

I have been debating on which policy to get. for 2 months now.

Just used my Cornerstone policy a couple of weeks ago for a leaking shock. The service writer at the dealership asked me where did I get this "weird" policy. I guess it was "weird" since it was not the one sold by their dealership. He said they were hard to deal with since he wanted to change out the brake pads since the shock oil had been getting on the pads. The Cornerstone plans excludes brake pads, so they would not authorize pad replacement. Cornerstone has some type of way to pay the repair facility by phone but they can't do that after 5pm eastern time. Since the dealer was afraid, I guess, that they wouldn't get paid, they would not release the bike without payment. A call was made to Cornerstone and they said I could pay the bill, submit the repair documents with the authorization number and they would just sent me the check. I received the check in about 10 days. I'm very satisfied with how it was handled. I had the brake pads changed out at my expense just for piece of mind. My plan has zero deductible and I think it was about 400.00 less than the HD plan.

Lazybee, You must have gotten a policy a while back because now there is a $50 deductible.
From the questions page http://www.discountesp.com/questions:
"The plans we offer now provides great protection for riders. The coverage is for all parts covered under the factory warranty, the same $50 deductible, and repairs can be done at ANY Harley-Davidson Dealership or State Licensed Repair Shop. There is also Emergency Roadside Assistance, Rental Reimbursement, and Travel Lodging Reimbursement included."

Also, I am not affiliated with Cornerstone and discountesp, just interested buyer in ESP.

It got straightened out eventually, work was done & he was reimbursed. Something to think about if you travel to one of those states where Cornerstone isn't sold. I would have gone with Cornerstone, if it was available here in FL.

Btw, the H-D endorsed plan is negotiable. I was quoted somewhere around your price for the 7 year plan (2 year factory + 5 year ESP) including wheel & tire coverage. Eventually paid close to $2000 out of state. Send out some emails, or make some phone calls, if you decide to go with the H-D plan.
The reason the plan can not be sold in FL is your public servants have decided its best for you that no warranties of any kind can be sold in your state if there are no local branches of the ins company. Meaning they do not have a presence in your state. (or something like that)
One can call Cornerstone and find out if there is a work around, like your friend who bought in another state.
I bought a Cornerstone plan for my 14 Road King. Never bought an extended warranty in my life, which has been a long one so far, god willing!

Once my factory 2 year warranty was about to expire I bought 4 more years from cornerstone for $1,100. I havent needed to use it yet. The bike has been flawless, much to my surprise.

(I just noticed the new policies from Cornerstone, Like HD have a $50 deductible, I got my policy last summer, glad I did, no deductible)
Also you do NOT need to have your Harley repaired at the dealer if you choose not too, you can go to any licensed repair shop.

Also keep in mind, it is NOT Harley Davidson who underwrites the official Harley Davidson warranty, its an after market company no different then Cornerstone.

The Cornerstone warranty is also transferable to the new owner if you sell your bike privatively, it is not transferable if a dealer buys it but you can get a prorated refund if that is the case. (verify my information, I am going on what I knew at the time of purchase)

Here are the new details ... http://www.discountesp.com/esc

I have done a lot of research on Cornerstone and it seems like a no brainer to choose them over the high priced plans from HD. They are accepted at any authorized dealer or state licensed repair facility in the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Canada.

There are on exclusion of states where you can have repairs done so this includes authorized dealers and state licensed repair facilities in FL.

$1698 (OTD) for an additional 5 year warranty plus 5 year tire and wheel coverage and HD is charging $3289 (then add tax to that) for the same 5 year coverage (ESP and Tire and Wheel). Exact coverage between both plans plus I have no deductible. That was an easy decision to make.

UPDATE: I just talked to Cornerstone and they can now sell in FL and CA. They do not have restrictions to sell ESP to those states any longer.

I have a 2013 RKC and according to the site, I am only eligible for 2 year coverage as I am out of warranty. I emailed them asking if there were any other yearly options and they responded saying:
At this time a 2 year is available, but we may have a longer time in a day or 2. Pricing is not currently available, but will have very soon."

So I'll see what they offer.

So I got off the phone with a rep from discountesp.com and they will warranty my bike for 4 years at $1598 and with the 6 year tire and wheel for $375, I will pay $1973. Harley wants $2419 for 4 year with tire and wheel coverage....so yeah I am going to go with cornerstone.

My local dealer though was not happy about me mentioning a different warranty provider. When I called to get the inspection, I said I would potentially be using a different warranty provider and they were like "let me check to see if we do inspections for that." I thought that was odd and a little dumb to turn away work but they called back and said they'd do it for $36. They also mentioned if you get the HD warranty, they will waive the fee.
When I went back to pick up the bike, I spoke with the sales person and asked if they could match the cornerstone pricing, give them a chance to earn my business and they said no since it was not an HD warranty from another dealer. This would have been acceptable, but they followed up with saying not every dealer has to honor the cornerstone warranty and to check the policy to be sure of what they cover. I explained to them it's the same as theirs but they were less than interested in anything I had to say about the warranty. That kind of rubbed me a little bit but I'd be butt hurt too if I couldn't make a sale.

Anywho hopefully boardtracker/cornerstone will approve my inspection so I can purchase the warranty tomorrow and be covered before my ride this weekend. Should be about 500 miles this weekend so having the warranty is a nice piece of mind. And after the inspection and oil change I had done, they washed the bike as well. She looks purty now. Below is a pic taken when I picked her up. Credit google photos for adding some filter to the bike to make it look awesome.
