Default another bar swap question - extensions

I am doing a swap, well planning. I am going from stock bars on my 08 ultra to Twin Peaks 12" 1.25 bars. I am going to order cables and wiring kit from Magnum. They list them by sizes like +2, +4, +6 etc.

I am not sure which I need to order. I think I need +4 for the cables and brake lines but I want to wire internally so I would assume that I would need slightly longer wiring extensions than if I left the wire external.

Is that right? Any suggestions on how long of an extension I need for the internal wiring.

Thanks.

I put 14" wild1 chubbies in my RKC (7" over stock). Went with +8 magnums and wish I'd have gone +10 due to wider bars. Still fit but a stretch. Take all dimensions into consideration then add +2 is my advice.

Good to know. I am thinking now maybe order the bars first then use a sewing tape measure to mock up and trace the bar for measurements then add 2 as suggested.

You can leave the cables on the bike and take off the stock bars. Then install the new bars and it's easier to see how much longer the cables need to be.

When I was measuring for length on my brake and clutch hoses, I used coax cable (rg6) because it was readily available and had similar bend characteristics as the hoses. I routed it the same way the stock hoses were. Cut it to length, then removed and measured. I bought the hoses with 30 degree fittings, should have got the 90 degree. I also should have gone 2" longer. Didn't account for the width of the new bars. Hind site...

2012 SERG 12 1/2" wild ones chubby bars. I bought Magnum brake and clutch hoses at 72" with 30° fittings. Should have bought 74" with 90° fittings.
