1997 road king paint touch up
I bought 2 spray cans of Harley touch up paint it's acrylic lacquer.I have a quarter size area on the gas tank right down to metal from gas dripping on it, i cant find **** on the internet about using this type of paint. I bought 2 cans because the saddlebags have faded pretty bad and wanted to bring those back to life while I'm at it. I was told it's a single stage paint and doesn't require a clear coat. What I'm trying to find out is do i sand every coat of lacquer between coats? sand every 4 coats ? how long between coats?then do i sand the finish paint or use a buffer and some compound??? there's nothing out there about this process??

I would go to an automotive paint store/supply house and ask on eof the counter guys, the ones I know here are good about helping to understand the ins and outs of paint. Most are bodymen and know their stuff.......my .02
