Buy it. You will notice extra noise in 5th gear. Put 10,000 miles on it and then switch it off the Syn3. Put heavy gear lube in the tranny, and some good 20-50 in the primary and engine. Go with the AC, pipes, and fuel management system and you will have a great bike that you will enjoy.
Baggers just happen to be the hottest bikes right now. They are great looking and practical. Just pick the one you like the best, you can't go wrong. I just hit 1300 miles on mine and no problems at all. As I was riding tonight, I thought "man what a great bike". This really is the best, most comfortable bike I have ever owned.
Air cleaner. Screaming Eagle has one, so does arlen ness. SEAC and AN big sucker. I went with the SE version, but both do about the same, from what I have read.
I made the transition from a 2003 Deuce to a 2007 Road Glide. I still own the Deuce but it stays parked in the garage. I was on the fence with buying the street glide or road glide. I did a 4-hour rental at the local dealer and was able to ride both bikes. After riding both I picked the road glide. You will hear people complaining about the wine of 5th gear on the 2007âs. Mine makes a little bit of a wine in 5th but nothing that I cannot live with. The bike puts out some heat in the area of my inner legs on hot days when I am stuck in traffic, but again nothing that I cannot live with. Everything else about the bike is great. My recommendation is to go rent one and choose what model and color. Good luck.
