3000 miles on mine & only problems was a random off-idle stumble (fixed with ECM flash by dealer) and a loose wire on my neutral switch that made my neutral light flicker sometimes. Other than that it's been the best riding, best built, best handling, and most comfortable motorcycle I've ever owned.
Looking at a bagger you think it'll be cumbersome and it'll handle like a toilet. But sitting in the saddle, the tour pac & saddlebags disappear, the bike feels smaller, and when you ride it you see how well-balanced it is and you find that its cornering and low-speed handling are more like a sportbike than a tourer. It is definitely an impressive machine.
Oh, and the engine vibes at idle are cool. Lets you know you're on a motorcycle!
Bought mine in February, changed the seat and thats it. No problems to date. Runs great, lots of power and the new tranny is fantastic for long highway cruising.
The only major problem that I've had with my RKC is that the odometer seems to be malfunctioning. Every time that I look at it, there's always another 500 miles on it. Hell, I went out for a quick lunch on Thursday and it rolled over another 120 miles or so.
Dumb *** question but is a bagger any bike with bags or must it be a Road King? This dude at a local hang outsaid he had a bagger go to find out it was a sporty with bags on it. Is it me?I'm I missing something here? Sorry for changing the subject kinda sorta.
