Conversion Chart for Harley Bulbs ?
There are other bulbs with the exact same base, but different filament configurations. Here's a chart. While going brighter certainly seems like a good idea, don't neglect expected life of the bulb.

for spots:
881 25 watt stock 565 lumens ( 300 hours typical)
896 38 watt (200 hours)
886 50 watt ( 150 hours typical)
beware of stressing the electrical system- 2 x 886 is 8.5 amps
btw with pair of snips you can fit the H9 highbeam capsule in the low beam hole on a dual halogen
