Default Conversion Chart for Harley Bulbs ?

Maybe someone has already researched this. The service manual shows my Ultra takes bulb # 68168-89a for both front and rear turn signals. I have read some old posts where you can purchase these at an auto parts store and 1156 bulbs go in rear and 1157 bulbs go in front. I'm wondering which one of those numbers is the equivalent to the stock Harley number ? I also see where the stock number for the front fender tip is 68193-95. I'm wondering if that can be purchased at an auto parts store under a different part number ? Thanks !

Parts store can definitely match them up. You don't need to go to the dealer for bulbs. One contact on the base is an 1156 and 2 contacts is an 1157.

While it probably is an 1157 bulb, it does have an additional filament support piece. This could make it last longer against vibration.

There are other bulbs with the exact same base, but different filament configurations. Here's a chart. While going brighter certainly seems like a good idea, don't neglect expected life of the bulb.

Since it's not surviving posting (format looks fine in preview), here's a link to a thread with the charts for the single (1156) and dual (1157) bulb charts from sylvania.

see if this helps.

It may be a little out of date and specific to GE.

and...

for spots:

881 25 watt stock 565 lumens ( 300 hours typical)
896 38 watt (200 hours)
886 50 watt ( 150 hours typical)

beware of stressing the electrical system- 2 x 886 is 8.5 amps

btw with pair of snips you can fit the H9 highbeam capsule in the low beam hole on a dual halogen
