If you can get a test drive with a windshield. I know it isnt always an option but if you are somewhere that has vendors you can possibly try different sizes and see what fits you best.
The reason I say this is that I had a WS on my bike that directly interfered with my vision.
Go to the LRS web site, they have a guide for sizing the windshield. As a general rule you want the shield at the bridge of the nose, sit in your usual comfortable riding position and have someone with a level measure from the bridge of your nose out to the shield spot and measure down to the top of the fairing (not the existing windshield). That is the height you need.
Again, everyone is different, that is just a guideline.
I've tried a few different windshields on my street glide. I ended up with a 8 1/2 flare from Klock werks. I'm 5' 10" and it seems to work great for me

This is good advice. The ideal screen is one that lets you look over the top at the road but is tall enough to create an air pocket for you so the wind flows around and over you. Go to one of the major rally's, find a good after market vendor (the people at Windvest are great and they have a good product as well as several others). They will show you different heights and get you set up. But no guarantees that you wont eat bugs every so often. It is a motor cycle after all.
I believe on a ultra limited, 2014 its a 10 inch stock, thats what i ordered from LRS, and works perfect, do a measurement like stated above, I'm close to 5' 11", but everyone is made diff.
Check out Freedom shields..Jim is a great guy to work with. Plus you can bolt it on and try it out and if you need a different one they will replace it as long as you don't remove the protective plastic coating..A+ to work with.
LRS, no doubt about it.
Look over their site, then call them. Generally, your height minus inseam will determine about how tall it should be. In my experience, windshield about mustache height throws the wind an inch or two over my head. With a recurve, the windshield can be about an inch lower and achieve the same effect.
Note: Windshield safety is important. Polycarbonate is a must. I have had stuff hit my windshield, watch it bow and flex back with no damage. Not the time for plexi or other inferior materials.
I ride with LRS Elite and an Elite Recurve, and love both of them. To clean them I spray Plexus on the cool windshield out of direct sunlight, let it sit and foam for a couple of minutes (But not to dry), then wipe off with a clean microfiber towel. The sitting time softens the bugs. Good stuff, and keeps the windshield looking like new.
LRS - forum sponsor, too. Great customer service.
