I just ordered OEM color matched vented lower fairings for my 2013 road glide custom in candy orange. Any tips or advice on install? Do the really keep the wind off your legs/pants? I always wanted a tour pack and lowers. Iv had the king pack for over a year. Bike just doesn't look completed without the lower fairings. Should have just a road glide ultra to start with. LOL
My main question is, what type of highway pegs are compatible. I don't thing my cheap kuryakyns are going to work.
Yes they make a difference with the wind, but also the rain. I found that the peg mounts that work best are the ones with the angled mount so they can get aroung to the back of the lowers.
The lowers make a huge difference for wind and rain. I have only been riding with them 3 weeks since I bought the 17 RGU and have noticed that I can ride with the weather 10 degree colder before even thinking about chaps on the RGU than I could on the WG
On my ultra, I just used the pegs and a clamp to secure them to the crash bars. I'm 5' 9 1/2" and didn't ever feel like I needed the pegs any closer but you can rotate them back towards you until the stretch is comfortable.
The lowers help in the rain and the winter temps...conversely they are hotter in the summer. I used to take off the adjustable doors in the summer so both the engine and myself got more air but they still protected my legs and feet from the water. Not completely but I didn't get as wet as I did without the lowers.

Not really...I would tell you to check out the Lower Triple Tree Deflector but you're on a RG and I don't believe it fits.
I put a GADS triple tree deflector on my 12 SERG. Helped reduce my beard blowing up into my face. I have a set of Hell's Foundry hidden fairing brackets going on soon. I hear they help too. (By the way, I think I got the last set in the continental United States. It took me about 8 months to get them. Hell's Foundry backordered them on me, then later cancelled the order. Finally got them from Native Customs. The powder coat on one doesn't match the other. They're going to get painted to match my inner fairing.)
