Nope, you are good I got it bad!!!

A substantial part of my OCD was masked over ten years as it was directionally proportional to repetitious work ethics as a Navy F/14A+ & FA/18 mechanic. I'm trying hard every day to adjust to normality, it's a never ending battle LOL...

I'm a old school nostalgic muscle car guy, this is my third Harley, first one changing cams not a custom to roller lifter..... buuuuut old school solid's oh yeah!

Not on a Twin Cam. It only matters if you're reusing them to keep the wear patterns the same. New lifters (excluding woods directionals) can go in either orientation. The lifter bore gets 360 degree oiling to the feed. Even then, it really doesn't make a huge difference.

There were some early manuals that called for them to be "directional" and the bikes wouldn't have them the proper direction from the factory. HD has since revised that to pretty much what I said above.

Frankly, that's just incorrect. No matter what some Joe-schmoe youtuber says.

Your 103 manual is going to say what the correct 88cid manuals say: "To preserve existing wear patterns, orientation of the oil hole (inboard or outboard) should have been noted during disassembly."

Not only that, but you can see how the lifter is made, that it will oil the same no matter what way you put it in

If you don't mind me asking, what lift cams are you running that you feel you need rollers with?
