CYCLE-RAMA Build
yup she will be hard on the rear tire for sure I wonder if any company's use kevlar in the tire construction? HA HA
Bike is going to rip!
well the cams finally cam in and the clutch parts too got it all back together Friday night and started her at 9:04 pm did a couple heat cycles and rode her on Saturday afternoon. got 74 miles on bike throttle response is awesome at 2500 rpm's in 3rd, 4th, 5th you can just feel the power in this engine. checked the compression on Sunday morning 200 psi in the front 203 in the rear no leaks and valve train sounds like a well oiled sewing machine. seems like it took for every to get this build done but it was well worth the wait every thing came together perfect the power this motor has is going to be alot of fun for sure!
I also really like R&R cycles air cleaner comes with the external breathers setup ran the hoses down the cam chest along the frame to two nice little breather assemblies.
Well time for a little Update on the build, Got the bike tuned at R&R cycles and it cam up short with the new proto cams. Wes called me and said I would have a new set in about two weeks he was changing the spec's on the 660I-2 cams. Well I got the new cams and installed them into the bike and we were off to the dyno again. The torque cam in sooner but flattened out just over that 130 mark and made a few more ponies. so Wes said ride the bike for the summer and he would get me another set of 110 heads and set them up for the CR 650 cams and get them to me when he got caught up in the shop. Well the Hurricane hit Florida and I figured $hit I'm done after a few days I got a call from Wes saying he only got minimal damage and was back at it again in the machine shop. On November 10 I got a call from Wes that I would have two packages waiting for me when I got home. That night I tore the bike down and replaced the base gaskets and reassembled the motor with the new heads and CR650 cams. The next day I was able to get 20 miles on the bike due to it was only 35 degrees outside. Ran and auto tune session for the first 10 miles and flashed the ecm. The bike sounds totally different now and will scald the rear tire in second gear with just rolling on the throttle. will be headed to the dyno around the end of April, Here is a pic of the last dyno sheet as you can see that 660-3 cam produces flat torque!
