i've got an 8" and i absolutely love it. i still get hit with crosswinds on the interstate, but 90% of the time it's perfect. out of my line of sight, kicks wind over my head and passenger's head. i still don't like the silly logo on the front, but i've learned to cope.
The sticker logo is easily removed. Just start at it with a sharp object then clean off the sticky residue.
OP, just call them for correct height. I do not look through a shield but over them. Have one of their shields on both bikes.

Had 2 on a previous Street Glide. When I got my current RKC, it had a big old 20 incher on it. Immediately went to a LRS 16" Elite. Love the recurve. I've never had a bad experience with LRS. No desire to try another brand at this point.

Looking to do the same for my RK, I'm 5'9 and was wondering if the 16 would possibly be to short but your saying the 16 is perfect for the RK what is your. height?
5' 10" here
HD Hammock Seat 9" inch LRS Darkest Shade
Hits right under the nose & upper lip exactly where I want it hitin'.
Will/would not look through a windshield.
Had a 10. Liked the 9 better.
