I have a set on my night train and like them, only about 500 mi so far. Have been running elite 3's on my touring bike and like them on that bike as well. I would highly receomend them
They are great tires.
I had a set on my '11 Street Glide and very good results with them.
They had approx 8,000 miles on them when I traded the bike off for a '15 Limited.
When it was time for tires on that bike, I again went with the American Elites.
I have put 5 on the rear and 4 on the front of my streetglide. They are the only tire I will buy. After 80,000 miles on them I am happy. I get good traction and they last a reasonable length of time. I buy mine online from Jake Wilson. No tax or freight and they are at my door in two days.
needing tires soon anyone have dunlap american ellites on there touring bikes and how do you like them
Great tires!
I have a couple new never mounted here in the shop that I would be willing to sell if they will work for you, I going to different sizes is the only reason these won't be used by me.

I have them on my 13 RKC, They have just over 16,000 miles on them and still have little life in them, and I do ride hard. I will be getting a new st of them shortly.
thanks for input one more question if your on a trip and i take alot of them and you get a flat does the harely dealers have american ellite tires i no they have stock ones
The only time I had to replace a tyre while on a trip was in France and no, the dealer didn't have any other brand or type of tyre except stock H-D ones. Getting back on the road was more important than the brand of tyre!
I recently switched to American Elites on both my Road King and Ultra at the suggestion of my indy. On dry roads, I couldn't be happier. MUCH better grip and feel than the stock tires. Smooth and don't track grooves like the stock 402's on the Road King. No howling in corners either. At least yet.
The jury is still out on wet roads. Riding down the road or in the curves they feel very secure but I feel like the rear locks up easier under breaking on the Road King especially ( no anti lock system) , but I have also had the anti lock system kick in on the rear of the Limited when wet. ( not a linked system ) It surprises me every time it's happened as I didn't feel like I was over braking.
Because of the ride when dry which is, I hope, the vast majority of my riding, I will stick with them. I just adjust my following distance a little to make sure I have plenty of room to brake.
My indy wasn't lying when he told me I would feel more secure with them. I ride pretty conservatively and thought he was kidding when he said I would start dragging my floor board because of the confidence and grip in the American Elites. I hardly ever did before but have done it a few times with the new tires on both bikes.
