New Touring Bike ?'s
While it would be cool, I think Mrs. R would want to command her own 2 wheeled chariot. She did like the SGS though.

Could you expand on this? What makes the King better for you?
I guess you have not ridden a batwinged bike. I can hear my radio at 80mph all day long
Well, I guess you've never ridden a batwing with a good stereo? The new Limiteds don't sound bad at all, and with an amp and upgraded speakers (not BOOM) these systems can sound incredibly good.
I've got 4" Rineharts on my '13 Ultra, and the stereo is very loud, crisp, and clear at 80+ for about $250.
Experience speaking here. Just sayin'
If your wife is thinking SGS, why not get the Limited. You get all the bells and whistles and if she prefers the look of the SGS, you can take stuff off. ie Tour Pak, lower fairings even the highway lights if you want to go that far. Look into quick detach TP and LFs. Later on, when she decides she wants the Pak and lower fairings, you already have them. Less headaches and less money down the road than buying them individually, and if you do buy aftermarket TP, do not get the Drag Specialties TP. Its flimsly plastic that will not hold shape, causing the latches to break. Buy a used HD one.
Now, I owned a 08 RK, I liked it but took the plunge after a year and traded it for the 2013 Limited. For me, love the Limited betteer than the King, wish I had just gotten the Liited to start with. I think its more confortable with the fairings, rain is not as big a deal nor is cold winds, I think it rides better too. Improved sound at highway speeds over the Unique Cycle Sounds system I put on the RK. Not as much destortion. I am considering and will probably upgrade the speakers and amp. Comes with the heated grips, I love these. Granted they can be added to any other bike, but with the Limited, they are already there. TP power port and lighter socket on the batwing, you have to add mounts to the RK handle bars or in the side covers for them. I dont have to funble with all the straps to attach the Luggage Bag to the back rest as I did on the RK. (If I need more storage than the hard bags and tour pak, I'll take my Jimmy). However my wife does complain about lower back pain on long trips. I think this is due to lack of lower lumbar support on the TP. I plan on adding a lumbar support like the ones you can get for your car thats held on to your seat with an elastic wrap around strap. Just cut off the attached strap, replace it with velcro to hold it in place on the TP. The Limited already has the intercom system, no need for aftermarket. Just have to buy the headsets sockets are already there, not sure if new Limiteds come with those headsets.
This is just my opinion/observations and in the end it means nothing, its completly up to you. It is after all, your coin.

You could always add a detached batwing (whether it having a stereo or a plain-Jane), tourpak and lowers to the King. Very nice versatility to remove or add what you want.

Being on a Switchback now, the RK seems like a bigger version of the FLD. I do love the agility of the FLD and it's very forgiving to ride. My test ride of the M8RK finds a lot of similarities between the 2.
