Looking to get a new starter. Geez, these are expensive- $375 !
Anyone know whose got them cheaper?
what is the part number 80-1013?
last year I bought a 1.7 and it failed a month later. They were quick to refund $ even though I asked for replacement. I did ask why the 1.7 was shipped in a 1.4 box and never got an answer.
all ***** only lists a 1.4 for touring 2007 and up since then.
I suspected they got a bad batch from china and had many returns for reason of no exchange. It did spin better than stock while it lasted.
However, I purchased an all ***** jackshaft kit, and didn't realize I needed to replace the seal with a larger one. Something I don't want to do right now is tear that primary apart again.
At this time, I would rather buy a stock jackshaft if I had to.

Question:
Checking the starter operation before re-installing the primary drive should be ok, right? It will just kick out the gear and spin the starter.
