Road King Diet

My 2016 RK is a great bike, but she's no lightweight. While others are piling junk on, I'd like to put mine on a bit of a diet.

My only non-stock parts are a Bright *** Light brake light and a Mustang RunAround solo **** pad.

I understand I can remove the windshield and the bags, aux lights, but any other weight reduction ideas?

I sure would consider lighter slip on's and air cleaner, etc.

Carbon fibre wheels and brake rotors. You do realise you can only add lightness by spending a lot of money?!

As mentioned a lithium ion battery but all the remaining weight is on the bottom of the bike. Something you will just have to get used to or step out of the touring class. The bike is not top heavy, just a BIG bike. The more you ride it the more comfortable you will get with it. Just be careful how you park, maneuver, etc. It will grow on you.

The wheels would be a huge change. Most people don't realize how much of a change the wheels make in terms of performance. I wouldn't spend the cash but this is not my money we are talking about.

You can pull the engine guard and saddlebag guards if you are comfortable without them. There's a kit available to support the bags if you're leaving them on.
