So, wifey and I are riding from San Antonio up to Austin for the Republic Of Texas rally. About halfway up there, we stop for a beverage, and she really starts complaining about the chrome saddlebag guards on my 2007 stock Roadking.
After looking at it, I can't tell if I can just take those bars off or not.
Have any of your co-drivers complained about the saddlebag bars cutting into their calves?
Can those bars be removed completely?
HD makes a cut down version of the bars, has anyone gone with that style?
Please help me out - as of right now, she HATES riding with me.
HD makes a 'low profile' rear bar that fixes your very problem. they angle downward.... i cant find them on the HD site, but i know theyre available since i was going to get them for my wife- but i didnt.
i like my saddle bag guard bags too much- and she doesnt complain!
you can either remove them (and sacrifice tip over/crash protection), adjust the passenger boards, get the above mentioned bars or leave the wife at home.
I have a Roadglide and just swapped out the chrome support rails for the Road King crashbars. If you want the chrome rails that replace the bars I sell em to you for whatI paid for the Crashbars. 80.00 shipped.
