Very nice looking bike. Are the fender stripes and tank emblems paint or vinyl?
I'll throw this out there. The "Harley Davidson" on the saddlebags and the "HD/M8" on the side covers detract from the look of the bike.
That's the beauty of personal preference! You don't have to like it, just like I don't have to like fairings. Isn't that part of what being a Harley owner is all about, making the bike your own? I think the orange on the bags and side covers looks pretty unique and badass!
24 degrees here today in Michigan but I'm going crazy walking past my bike in the garage everyday and not being able to ride it! Just added the headlight trim, La Pera bare bones solo, and Rinehart 4" slip-ons. I really need to get rid of those reflectors all the way around
Should have been rethinking the black and chrome look already if you're following the Road King Special thread haha
yep, it was debated, long and hard, then long and hard again, I almost bought the Special on New Years Eve when the sales manager in Golden CO offered it to me for the price of a Road King, but in the end I got what I wanted. But still, I love that murdered out look, maybe the most on the gray. Great looking bikes

You could tape over your reflectors for the blacked-out look, but still have some measure of safety in that they would still act like reflectors. I don't know if the tape will reflect as much, or as brightly, but at least there'd still be something...
All done, came out Great! HD wind screen fits just fine . The vent opens and closes with no problem, but with my SDC bar bag in the way. It renders the vent useless. Im okay with that. Lots of **** on my bars lol Much more narrow... i feel more in control of the bike. Not all clumsy and parachute like. T bars are the way to go especially with lucky Dave's. Top-quality stuff.
Bigge86,
What size cable extension did you use for the LD 15" bars?
hi guys. Another question for you all. For those who have changed out these bars, is there a video on how to do it? Im pretty handy with a wrench and screwdriver but havent done this before. I have watched one vid but its only 15 minutes long and skips right over which connectors to unplug and some of the finer points. If anyone knows of a video that would work for the bar replacement on this bike I would appreciate you pointing me to it.

Thanks.
I watched the Factory 47 videos, one of them is very detailed for a Road Glide. There's really nothing to changing the bars though on the RK. Remove the headlight, grips, switches and levers, unbolt the handlebar clamp, fit the new one, reverse everything.
really the only difference in these vids and the RK is the fairing
I still have this fairing if anyone's interested. Make an offer and I'll add $50 for shipping or local pick-up (central Florida) is free. I no longer own the RKC.
