Man, you are not wrong. Took both switch covers off, and they broke BOTH tabs when installing these bars originally, Each one of them had the little crack right down the middle. And of course, just touching them snapped them. Unreal. Guess Im in for another $400 for shitty switches. What a racket.
Edit: Went and looked again. Looks like it is just the left one broken. Yeehaw, half the price. I think I might try the lighted switches at this point. See if I can get them to work. Whats to lose?
That's a damn shame but I guess some good news. Not sure you will find lighted switches for our Kings. They only make them for the Touring bikes last I heard.

True in name but it doesn't have the audio system which means it doesn't have all the switches the true touring bikes have. Which means their lighted switches won't work on the RK or RKS.

Very true. Posted this question online a few weeks ago. Had a guy with a 2017 RK try a specific set of switches-71500248C. He was able to get them to work, with no issues. Apparently. I would definitely try them. But, again, none around me in my area. Have a set at a dealer 50 miles away from me. I cannot get there this week as I work until 5. Asked if theyd ship, no go. I understand why MOCO is driving business to be done at their local dealers. But if stock is out 4-6 goddamn weeks, why the hell can I not buy a part from a dealer in my state and have them ship it? Money goes to the dealer. I get my part. State gets its taxes. Whatever. Drove my business to eBay, where I found just the left hand switch pack. Thanks MOCO! Hahaha. I need to go meditate or something.

Serenity now, insanity later. 😀 Hell yeah if you can make the switches work go for it. I guess you just deal with the different button icons on the turn signals. Not a big deal for lighted switches.
Today’s question. I am in the process of removing my passing lamps and signals from my forks, like the link below. Going to a road warrior fairing. I have 2 sets of different signals that I want to use. Both from hogworkz. What I want to do, is splice both of these together, and then splice them to a male connector that connects into the current harness on the forks. Make sense? (Need new connectors. One from passing lamp has a broken tab) What is the name of that type of connector? Want to see if its even feasible.
With that said, removing the passing lamps (like the link below), they were wired to a toggle switch. Assuming I am going to need to remove that whole thing?
Hopefully I made sense. Had a lil nightcap before bed
I had the lighted switches on the RoadGlide Special but went to a 2020 RKS and I plan on doing the switches since it's nice having lighted switches on the night rides. I work offshift so alot of my riding is at nite. I did see on Youtube a gentlemen swapped over to lighted switches but you can switch over the dummy plugs from the oem over to the lighted switches. It's a very small torx screw but just trying to locate a set in my area but so far no luck. Heres the link to the video I found
Been following through this thread for a couple years now .figured Id post a photo of my bike.
Also, I dont do a lot of night riding, but when I do, its usually places that are foreign to me on roads that arent lit up. Im trying to figure out some additional lighting. Im torn between hogworkz and HD, unless you guys have better recommendations ? Im looking for top notch quality and performance no cheapies.
Also, there is some weird glitch on HD site where things that fit the RKS will not fit the RKS according to their bike filter. Seems like all that is available are the lower bullet lights that mount to the lower crash bars. The setup that has the bracket for the two smaller 4.5 lights mounted on both sides of the primary light is shown on street glide, but the fitment checker for RKS says it wont work. So how would I achieve the classic road king light trio?
