I don't understand, the RKS's are all blacked out, what bike do you ride ?
For me it's the opposite, I would like my RKS to be chrome, I think it would be original and classy, because I find that in vivid black it looks too black, I might already change the exhaust line to chrome, that will stand out a bit...
Hey Al there is still a fair amount of chrome on the RKS. The lifter blocks and push rod tubes. As mentioned here the side stand and mounting bracket. The rocker box covers have a strip of chrome. So question for you, how come you didn't buy a standard Roadking instead of a special? The standard models are all chrome. Was it not available in France?
The standard has been discontinued since 2023 and I like the stripped down look of the RKS the 19" front wheel and the streched bags...
With the engine cases and a chrome exhaust line, I think it wouldn't be bad...
Look this year they released the Low Rider ST in chrome and I think it looks good...

No kidding I didn't know. I don't keep up with what models come and go. Honestly HD will never see one dollar from me on a new bike. They have lost their way but that's another topic.
New farkle!! I have mentioned that my RKS replaced my 05' Electra Glide and serves as my touring rig. I do several 2K plus trips a year on it plus a few shorter trips. I do think the RKS makes for a great touring rig without all the weight of a batwing or sharknose fairing or the high and heavy load carrying of the tourpak. Anywho,
I use a Tomtom Rider 550 GPS on my RKS and really like it. Occasionally it does some odd stuff with directions or my Bluetooth, but tech will be tech. I also do shorter overnights on my Vespa. (feel free to insert joke here) I recently got a new navigation unit for my Vespa, the Beeline Moto II. It is not a satnav but rather relies on an app to function. I won't go too much into the differences here but thought some here might like the idea of a very stripped down navigation system which is a big part of the Beeline Moto's deal.
I used a Ram 1" 5/16-24 thread ball to attach it under the mirror stem. I used a 5/15-24 nut to replace the acorn nut so I could get the right torque and feel more secure about the mount. Then I put just a dab of blue locker on the ram mount and snugged it down. It believe the Ram ball is aluminum and not steel, so I did not trust it alone to hold all the stuff there together. From there, it was a short Ram arm attached to a Beeline Moto 1" ram ball mount.
I think it turned out pretty clean looking and will use it to supplement my Tomtom on rides since the two units can be set to display different data. If you have ever thought about using a dedicated satnav or didn't want to risk your phone on your handlebars, I really suggest giving the Beeline Moto II a look. I really think it complements the stripped down look of the RKS.
Nice decoration, but personally I would prefer to install an outside temperature gauge...
They have those as well but the vendor I got my crown from sells out of them. The best way to tell the outside temp is if your beer stays cold in the cup holder while you are riding.
