I have a driver adjustable, cable operated backrest for an 03 Ultra. I need a new cable or the one I have fixed. Plastic end on the outer part of the cable where it fits on the lever to release backrest is broke. Local dealer done a parts break down and cable is not available. No local shops custom make cables. Even tried some heavy truck shops that make pto cables, thought it would be worth a shot.
1st pic is lever where cable attaches.
2nd pic is how black plastic end is supposed to look.
3rd pic is broken end is.
Don't know how long its been broke. Took it off to sell and noticed it was broke. Looking/trade for the plug in style harley driver backrest.
Any ideas where to get a cable made or repaired?
I checked for the cable also. Cant believe something like that is not available to order. HD that sucks. Good luck and I hope you find a way to get fixed up
We know that some company some where has to make them for HD. Your would think for a bracket that's over $200, that they would use something besides plastic. You know HD has to buy this part, why not make it available to the customer?
