I'd like to understand how a "crotch cooler" could divert the heat I feel around my right ankle/calf.

I'm confused, what is the difference between your 2016 and your 2011? Same basic design. Do to your 2016 what you did to your 2011.

Kind of a pita but my solution was to remove the lower fairings for the summer. Much cooler.

My 103's were hotter than hell too, I replaced the headpipe, mufflers and tuned it. Much better but then I bought a 17' M8 and cured the problem.

If you are feeling heat around your right ankle the problem is the cat in the pipe .. Our product is designed to protect you from the rear cylinder and exhaust heat up on your thigh area, and while sitting in traffic ..
