Thanks to a member here I was able to book a room at a great rate, that includes parking, and has security, in the garden district. Street cars are close by. There are tons of things to do and see in the area. Thanks for all of the comments.

Very cool, it's is on my bucket list, som some day I will get there wether on a bike or if I fly.
We were looking at riding down from PA around the same time, and decided against it for several reasons. But the biggest reason was we were told that even in May the heat and humidity are almost unbearable. Both my wife and my buddies wife absolutely hate the heat (might be a woman at a certain age thing, lol)
But when we were looking we found several places to stay that had secured parking. Our plan was to ride in, and walk, taxi/uber around.
We are going to Nashville instead, will still have good eats and good live music and hopefully not quite as hot.
Youll have fun. You should also ride east to the mountains if you have the time. Youll be less than 5 hours from the tail!

Don't think your gonna do 600 miles in 5hrs. Hope y'all enjoy your stay in Nawlins. It's a bucket list thing for sure. Been there and done that and got the tee shirt. That place just ain't for me...especially on a bike. I have a hard enough time not getting ran over on 18 wheels.
If you get a hotel, make sure you ask what fees are attached to the price.
A $149.00 becomes $300.00 real fast with taxes, fees, parking etc.
They won't mention that online, while you book a non refundable room.
LOL you are right about the hotel taxes in the Quarter, there is like a 14% room tax, a statutory tax, a $2 occupancy fee and there may be some I am missing, then you throw in $35 or so for parking. When I stay in the quarter I always figure on adding $75 a night to what ever the room rate is

Garden district is a great choice for a stay, there is lots to see/do in that area and streetcars from St Charles St can get you easy cheap easy access to Canal St and the Quarter.
