Default 2003 RKC oil light on

Just got the bike back from getting cams, bearings and tensioners. It runs strong however I perceive a little more noise than before. Today went for a five mile ride and was sitting at a light and looked down and the oil light was on. It has never come on. I shut the bike down then let it sit for five min. Started back up still on. Rev it up and it goes out, let it idle and on again. I got the bike home as quickly as I could and put it in my garage. Light still on at idle. Rev it up a tad and it goes out. After I shut it down again, I started it one more time. Light is off at idle. I went for a ride. and its staying off. This makes no sence to me. I thought perhaps when the cams were done maybe some crap got into the oil pump or something. I called the guy who did the work and he said he inspected the oil pump and put all the appropriate seals in as well and all looked well. In fact the night I picked it up I rode 50 miles hom without any issue as well.

Now it seems fine again. Any ideas?

Randy

One of the two o-rings from plate to chest or the one at rear of the oil pump possibly misaligned and blocking oil possibly. Do you know if he aligned the pump properly and checked the gerotors to ensure they stood proud to ensure the wavy washer was good, etc? Make the mechanic open it up and redo it....was it an indy shop or a shadetree mechanic? I wouldn't ride without being able to tell what the oil pressure is.

dawg, The wavy washer was not in there. The wrench went back in for free and was so so apologetic. I am not angry or leary or pi$$ed at him. We all make mistakes. He would not take a penny for it. When he wasn't looking I slipped him a 50 anyway.

Your wrench learnt something,, you learnt somethings ,,, seems like your wrench is an upstanding type of guy .... Looks like a good wrench / bike owner relationship happening ..... Just dont get in a habit of slinging him $50 all the time ......
