Default Shocks to lower

What is the cheapest and best way to lower rear of my 2010 Ultra so I can flat foot? Shock mounts to lower or shorter shocks? What we got out there..

you can use lowering blocks but WILL sacrifice ride... your best bet is to have your seat modded at MCC for about $150 OR save up and buy yourself an air ride system

Cheapest and best do not go together.

Seat, either modified or one of the reach types.
Shocks, shorter or lowering blocks.
Frame, drop seat bolt in.
Shoes, thicker soles.

Wink

Flat-footing is just SO over-rated, I haven't been able to do it for most of my 50 years of riding! Put your pocket money into miles on your bike and improve your confidence on it.

====================

I tried 1" lowered shocks and loosing the 1-1.25" shock travel is an issue esp if you ever ride 2up with bags loaded"

After goofing around with mult things i ended up using 1" lowering blocks that cost approx $50,2yrs & 16k miles later mostly riding 2up & bags loaded i have had no major issues thus far associated with that setup using stock airshocks on my 09 FLHTCU.

But i did have 1x i scraped a floorboard navigating a tight 10mph hairpin turn when i was going thru it @ approx 8-mph and thats it.

I also changed the oil in the stock rear airshocks from stock 5w to 10w shock oil (not 10w fork oil!) which helped dampening a lot.

It also improved overall ride & comfort too because i could run 50% less air pressure without bottoming out 2up vs when the rear shocks still had the thin 5w shock oil in them.

I will try that first. I have been concerned about the lowering block moving the weight back and stressing the 2000 swing arm.

Your swingarm is the most vulnerable to failure if you use lowering blocks, not something I would do! They are known to fracture across the slot the axle moves in.
