MAp required only when you begin to change the volume of air entering the engine. In this case mufflers will have no impact and thus no need to map.

Thanks for asking I had the same question, I want to improve the sound and give me some time to figure out the best path to more power.

I recommend being careful about this - especially on an '07. The '07's run pretty lean from the factory, and anything you do to move more air through the system is going to cause it to run even leaner. Many mufflers do not appreciably impact the airflow, but some will, and if the air cleaner is not already flowing at maximum, then the mufflers may enable more air to flow, thus aggravating an already lean condition.

How about on a 2005 EG Classic.
Can I just add new pipes (slip on) Air Filter and have the dealer do a Re-Map? Can't decide on a Fuel Pak, PC111, etc. Seems like you guys have too many problems especially the PC111.

Thanks for your help
Don

Just remember...EVERY time you have a remap done, it's going to cost you $150 every time. Why bother blowing $150 a pop when you can go with a fuel management system that you can reprogram yourself for nothing? Change the pipes twice to something different, and you've already paid for a fuel management system.

I have a Vance and Hines Fuel Pak, and no matter what brand of pipes, or mufflers I decide to go with, I can easily go on Vance and Hines web site and look up my settings for a particular setup, and within 10 minutes I'm reprogrammed and on my way. If you decide to change your setup down the road to either back to original, or something else, you'll have to get the ECU reprogrammed. If I decide to sell my bike, or go back to the original setup pipes and mufflers, all I do is remove the V&H pipes, mufflers and high flow air filter, unplug my Fuel Pak, and I'm back to stock settings.

The beauty of a fuel management system is that I can pull my V&H pipes and/or mufflers if I wanted to and go with anything else made out there. Rineharts, Bassani, Porker, Samson, Rush, etc etc doesn't matter. It gives you a lot of flexibility on what you want to run on your bike for sure!

Bagger07 you got a point. I was under the impression that if you were only going to do A/C and pipes a remap would be the way to go. But if you wanted to to cams or other things to the engine, a fuel pac, SERT or PCIII were the way to go. Remi
