I have an 09 Ultra Classic and my left turn signal is acting up. With the switch on, both front lights are on, in the running light mode and the rears are not. The rears operate as turn only.
The right side seems fine. The right front bulb running light stays on while the signal filament flashes, and the rear flashes as well.
The left side will flash at the same speed as the left four times and then goes to a fast blink mode(front and rear). The front running light filament does not stay on when the turn signal is on, but the signal filament blinks. The sound or rhythm of the the flasher is different on the left than the right, seems to be coming from under the tour pack or the passenger seat. All bulbs are new.
To rule out a bad bulb, swap the bulbs from right to left. Also check the ground on the left front light. The running light should stay lit even when the turn signal is flashing (the way the right side is working). If you have any converter to make the run/brake lights in the tour pak work as turn signals, try unplugging the converter.
I've had a bulb cause a similar issue. Was the right one just bad inside. Couldn't see the issue, Just pull the left side bulb and see if the left turn signal affects that right side bulb still. If not probable bulb issue.
