So, I ordered a V-Twin manufacturing external breather to install. I didn't want to dump to ground and don't like the little filter but wanted a nice catch can. My options seem limited on wear to mount it, so I got a longer bolt and some spacers and I think this may work ok. It's a tight fit, but I even got the hose to fit between the push rod tubes and it still seems to flow fine. (I can breath through it). Only issue is I will need to remove it to drain it. Thoughts? I couldn't find one other post anywhere with this particular breather. Also, I need to find a tap to work with the 1/4 inch fuel hose fittings I bought. Or, if someone can just point me at what breather boots to buy for my screamin eagle air filter I'd be fine with that.
Yeah, I know a lot of people do, but that wasn't the route I wanted to go. I guess I'm looking for opinions on if it is too close or anything like that.
nah......looks ok......but that hose looks pinched between pushrod cover and cylinder fins........will rub a hole in it real soon...may be a bitch to empty it........not even sure how often you might need to do that.....
How much oil accumulation do you expect for a catch can? I have no idea how much these vents will put out.
I am also tired of the mess and the engine sucking this oil in and looking for ideas.
I need to know the approximate amount I guess. I would assume a stand alone filter would need to be cleaned or replaced time to time. Plan on doing some form searches. I think yours looks good but he location seems awkward and it seems big. That being said, if it works well then it looks good.
The downfall is it's one bolt to pull out to be able to empty it. So, I am hoping I don't need to empty often. I know the hose looks pinched, but the flow doesn't seem restricted. How thin of a hose could I go without causing an issue? It's really not big, but a shorter filter on top might make it look better.
Hose you have is ok and I'll warn you the filter will still "sweat " oil mist a bit particularly after a good highway run so heads up. While they do a decent job you will still have some regular wipe down & cleanup

Good to know. I generally keep the bike fairly clean. I suppose if it gets out of hand, I can move, I just done know to where with that bracket set up. I have 1/4 inch nipple for the air cleaner, but hardware store didn't have a tap. Or I order bolts to make life easier.
