Default Simple ipod question

Hi all,
I have a 2012 ultra but am renting a new milkawee 8 soon when i come to the USA on vacation.
Question is;
Will an ipod or ipod nano or usb stick be better for the music ( i have all of them).?
Not sure if the ipod will fit in the little cupboard thing in the dash?

Do i need cables or do i use bluetooth to connect?

I could ask the dealers here but they are pretty useless and i trust your judgement as usual.

Thanks for any help

I dunno- but which model are you renting- that could make a difference, maybe not!

and where are you going?

If it was me, I'd just do the USB stick. They are cheap and if the airlines loose anything, you aren't out a bunch of money. It also means you don't need to pack a separate charger for the ipod(s).

Also, don't know where you are going, but mechanical drive ipods don't like a lot of heat. The compartments can get warm.

I plug my iPod touch in and put it in the dash compartment on my '17 sgs. You can Bluetooth it but it's nice having it stay charged for the entire ride.
The dash compartment has a short usb cord to plug into

Thanks all.
Renting an ultra classic and doing the blue ridge parkway area.

So it sounds like an ipod touch fits into the dash compartment ok.
Does the connector charge as well then ?

I plug my ipod touch in the usb cable in the side fairing compartment on my 15 RGS. Like OP said it keeps it charged. If you use playlists to listen to your choice of music it is easier to manage.

Yes an iPod touch fits into the dash compartment and yes the bike will charge it if you choose to have it plugged in.

Enjoy your vacation and ride!

Great area, you're going to have a great trip. I suggest to ride the entire length and continue down to the Smokey mnts. Can't go wrong.
