I went with a 10" Ultra Recurve from LRS and I have pretty much no buffeting at all. I probably could have went a little shorter.

Long Ride Shields are having an unbelievable sale right now.

I have the Ultra Elite in 7". The wind hits the top of my helmet but not my face like the 7" Freedom shield did. I chose the 7" because I wanted the shortest shield that knocked the wind out of my face (IMO, tall shields don't look as nice). I would buy another LRS Ultra..... as they are reasonably priced.... and on sale on their site now.

Most dealers have a "Borrow" program for windshields just have to ask. That might work,

They are known as "fugley" but they work. The Harley fangs are a little less fugley then the Bikers Choice angle style, but don't work as well. They do cause the motor temp to go up. Higher temps on the interstate, yes. I took mine off and tolerate the buffeting. I do run them in spring and fall. 10 minute R/R

I put fangs on an 07 FLHRS RK Custom, made a big difference plus a 18" LRS windshield.

Do you wear a helmet? I did all the above mentioned minus the fangs. Switching to a low profile Outlaw helmet helped me a lot. I'm running a fastaire aero windshield.

I had bought a 17" Memphis Shield last year for my RK that was brutal to my vision above 50mph. I just installed an 18" LRS recurve last night and hope that fixes it. It's been raining for three days so I haven't been able to ride to check it out.
