Default Avon Cobras ???

Sorry ahead of time for another tire thread.

But I need to get some for my recent 1997 Road King acquisition. It has Harley Dunlops on it now. Even thought they have plenty of tread on them, they are 8 years old so it's time for them to be replaced.

I am thinking about using Avon Cobras. I put a set on my 870lb 2008 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Full Tourer that had Metzler 888's on it and the change has been dramatic to say the least. It's like I am running on rails through corners. I have scraped the foot boards more than once and the bike just keeps tracking through the corners. I have 5K on them and they are still like new, like the day I put them on. I have never been impressed as I have been with tires like these.

Anyone have experience with the Cobras on a Road King?

I assume you mean Road King. Have them on my Utra Limited. Love them. When they wear out I'm getting them again.

I had a set on my Goldwing. They were awesome! They handled great and with very minimal tread wear. They have a harder compound in the center tread.
They handled Deal Gap with no problem. I also had Ceramic Beads in the tires.

You just missed a rebate and sale on them, ended 04/30/17 I bought 2 for my 11 RK, Cobra Ultra (heavy duty) for $229 for the pair, your size would have been even less. I have not installed them yet.
Make sure that you go the Avon website for tire pressure's, They run higher PSI I did much research prior to buying and I liked what I read about them, but again increase PSI over factory specs. Price your tires at Dennis Kirk or Jake Wilson.

I've got Cobras on my 95 Road King. Only have a couple thousand miles on them but so far I like them. I'm not looking to drag my boards around the corners but if they have the grip for it then that's pretty reassuring.
