Default Lower kit for my 2011 flhx

Looking for some honest opinions about whether I can or can't lower my front end. I have a 2011 flhx with a 23" laced front wheel. While sitting on bike with my feet down I'm tippy toed and have been that if I was able to lower the front, I'd be lucky to get an inch out of it. Really looking to find a solution to bring the front end down a bit, any info is greatly appreciated.

really depends how you ride.

alot of bikes smack the top of the fender on the triple tree on a good pothole.

the less suspension travel you have, the more likely this is to happen

less suspension travel means that any damping has to happen in less distance..and also in less time- end result is going to be a stiffer and jouncier ride

I installed the progressive mono tubes 1 inch lower kit on my 12 SG. I have been running that setup for over 2 years now. I have never bottomed out even 2up. IMHO the bike handles better because the geometry is now back to almost stock instead of the front being jacked up high. With the monotube kit you can go to almost 2 inch lower. I chose to got to 1 1/2 inch drop. I run a 21 up front. The tubes are all self contained and drop right into the tubes. You do have to pull the tubs to do the install but it was an easy job. I know and have heard all the stories about don't do it you lose travel. But in the end I think the bike rides better with the gas charged monotubes and it looks better too.
