I think part of the issue maybe due to the material. Acrylic even in its impact modified state is not as impact friendly as polycarbonate. The cracks around where the shield was clamped down is typical where a stress riser is introduced from triming. When the wind gusts hit the shield it flexes. If it is too tight it can Crack like that.

No ammonia cleaners used. I use Bug Slide on the whole bike, including the windshield.

Unhappy Do not expect to look through the LRS windshield

My experience with LRS, the windshield arrived promptly, and it appears to be well made. My problem is that I prefer to look through the windshield, and even though I ordered the 12" windshield, since that is what I am used to, the image was a little distorted and and uncomfortable to look through. My fault for trying to see through it.
Don't try what I did.

I agree with most here...over tight..back off the tension and if you are worried simply put a small bit of locktite on the screw. But the tension created by fairing keeps tension on the screw and usually prevents backout.

Recurve screens are not made to be looked through...The way you measure proper height can be found on internet...proper height has your eyes above the screen.

Lots for everyone to learn from your post, thank you for sharing.
First know what you want, research it and order accordingly.
If you want recurve then, it seems obvious to me, that you don't want to be looking through the recurved portion. You'd either order taller or a non recurve shield.
Second, LRS is timely and make a quality product.
Third, always test mount the shield lightly with the film on so it can be returned if it does not meet your expectations. LRS says quite clearly not to remove the film until you are sure you want to keep it.
Hope you have better luck finding a shield that works for you.

Oh, and if you want to recoup some of the cost of the shield you have, LRS shields sell very well in the classified section here on HDF.
