You will also have to retrofit the Evo front engine mount and central stabilizer, as they are both different to the twincam in the current bikes. Also budget for an aftermarket engine, such as an S&S 111", to match the performance of the current bikes.

It seems first ABS was in 2005 bike, from Nissin..I think. They say it was pretty bad people would take em off..

It is the last harley engine that gives distinct harley sound, while being modern enough to be reliable, compared to pre-evo engines But all reasons aside, personally it's the engine I grew up envying back in 90s as a kid.. so it's very comforting to hear evo sound.

They come as big as 96 cu in, so power won't be a problem. I say it's possible, keep looking into it. And let us know, I'm tired of muffler, handlebar, seat and oil threads!

PS the main reason you can't make a newer bike sound like an evo is the ignition. Dual fire vs single fire. I wonder if you could program a new bike's ECU to fire both plugs instead of just the one on the power stroke?
Thank you for your insight.. canbuss pretty much rules out rushmore models then.. so 2009~2013 models may have a shot..

I saw some clips where twin cams were mapped and tinkered to sound pretty close to evos, but when revving it was back to sterile feel..plus I heard it's not healthy for twin cams to run like that? It is actually very interesting how each engine sound/feels so different..

Thank you for the input. I saw the prehistoric ABS.. takes up whole saddle bag. But for some reason the owners didn't seem to like the ABS and often would take em off.. If that ABS was actually good, it might be worth a try I think..

Early ABS systems across the bike/car industry left a lot to be desired, some of them being quite intrusive when they activated. It's no surprise that many owners didn't like them. My first bike with it was a BMW which I rode for over 50k miles and it never activated, I obviously never used the brakes hard enough to wake the system up. It did however cost me serious money to have it serviced! My first car with ABS was a real pain in the butt, as it would activate quite violently at the slightest provocation. Those two systems were worlds apart in being 'user friendly'!
