I have a 08 street glide I have not started it in about a year I installed a new battery and new gas it started right up put won't idle down it stays at 1000.rpm ?

I believe that's normal idle speed

You can try the reset.... key on 30 sec key off 30 sec do this 4 times see what happens. But my 08 runs at around 1000, 1050 at idle.

I think most TC's idle about 950-1000 rpm
Some EFI Controllers allow Idle Adjustments
You can file down the tip of the throttle stop or if you have the tool readjust it to lower the idle a little.

The only way I can change my idle is timing advance.... You're gtg.

After it's completely warmed up it may idle down to 900-950 but that's going to be about as far as she'll go.

Thats normal.


My bone stock 09 TC 96" has always idled @ 1k rpm when at norm op temp.
