Stuck in the side of the highway
Hey team, my buddy's bike is acting funny. It runs and idles but there is a loud clicking coming from the intake. Also it is blowing out air instead of sucking in. Does anyone know the issue? Trying to troubleshoot to get the bike running normal. Thanks in advance.it is a 2016 screaming eagle road glide with 110.

Except same thing happened with my buddy's 16 Ultra CVO. Kept riding it until the nearest dealer. About 50 miles. 50 bux for him. About 6 k for HD. Valve seized and kissed a piston. Complete rebuild. Initially sounded like an exhaust leak. Bikes was down for 3 1/2 weeks. Would have been much faster and probably cheaper to just swap in a new engine but HD corporate refused.

if its a 110 with 24k miles, i say lifter problem with a stuck valve. suspect massive catastrophic failure wirh a complete rebuild in your future.

If it's puffing back out of the intake, then one or both intake valve(s) are stuck open. The lifter probably seized and broke. The clicking you hear is probably the cam lobe smacking around whats left of the lifter.
