Love Jugs threatened to sue Jason because he had two fans on his home made deal - because they hold the two-fan patent, and then they straight up stole his design and according to them "improved" upon it.
Jason was not taken over, nor did he sell out to anyone. Word is Jason is working on something better than his original design that does not infringe upon Love Jugs patent.
Well, I do not have a clue what Jason is doing, but IMHO the so called Love Jugs patent is overly broad, should never have been approved, and is indefensible if any reasonable person with minimal intelligence reviews it.
Read the original patent for yourself and decide.

That is the #1 problem with patents today. Microsoft paid a small company (think down in Texas) $200M to settle a patent infringement on their Virtual Private Network (VPN) patent. It was a totally bogus infringement but the companies patent was so broad that they ended up settling.
That same company went after several larger companies later on the same patent.
In our business we call these guys Patent ****'s
Jason should have been able to get around it with a improvement patent. His design was different enough.
The Mrs. went this route 5 years ago for her profession. The patent office kept coming back with little "rejections" which meant more money to the patent lawyer and more time. She even got nice little letters stating, "to shorten the review time, please send an acceleration fee of $1000.00 to expedite your request". I call it extortion. Wonder why the connected win? Maybe Jason just didn't want to spend the money to fight it.
With that said, I use my Ward's fans when it is hot.... like now (93 today) and see a noticeable difference in oil temps and performance as my tune runs like crap once the oil temp hits 240.... I'll be watching to see if there is any substance to Jason's new fan.
I have two of Jason fans and they have performed flawlessly with the exception of a snap switch failure. Waiting for him to come back from the dark with something good. He always took care of folks with great support. We all should be supporting him when he comes back online if this is the case!
When I first heard about Wards fans I wanted them but they weren't available so I went with Love Jugs. Maybe I should have just let my engine fry but decided to try the Mighty Mites and am glad I did. The fight between the two companies is their business and not mine. I had an issue with my fans but both Steve and Dave jumped in and helped me fix it. I'm satisfied with my decision to go with the MM's
I think it's BS after all this time that Love jugs pulls the patent infringement on him. It seems like a typical big company bullying a small business owner. I hope he comes up with a better fan setup and Love jugs can screw off.

I have a set of Wards fans on my 2016 Tri-Glide and love them. I have people ask all the time "what is that" or "that looks good what is it?". When I explain to them what they are the response is always "where can I get them". After I explain to them what the deal is they always say the same thing; glad you told me, I am going to wait and see what happens because I think love jugs did a sucker punch.
I don't know what Jason is or is not doing but hope and pray he can get another product on the market. I did look long and hard at everything on the market including Love Jugs as well as talking to the manufacturer of the products. I really liked the way Ward's product looked on the bike and all the choices of color and finish. For me the Love Jugs looked big and qawdy on the bike and they kept on bashing the Ward's product saying it was inferior to there's. When I decided on the Ward's product and it arrived I was extremely impressed with the fit, finish and function, and they flat out worked. In no time Love Jugs was selling the same time they said was inferior and Ward's Perks was not selling any more. As time went on the talk started speculation about what was going on. I do not know what the real story is but I feel like Love Jugs sucker punched Ward's Perks. I am glad I got mine when I did and will use them until they wear out and fix them or purchase anything else but the Love Jugs because of what I feel was low down on the part of Love Jugs. Perhaps Ward's Perks will come up with a different design and apply for a patent on it to protect their interests. Until then I will continue to tell anyone who wants to to know what my fans are what I know to be the truth; Ward's Perks, Love Jugs talked them down, Ward's Perks is not selling any more and Love Jugs is now selling a product that looks exactly the same after talking them down. Then they can buy Love Jugs or wait and see what happens if anything with Ward's Perks. At this point I would be willing to donate to Ward's Perks so they can develop something that doesn't violate the patent. Maybe you would call me crazy or stupid, I call it a matter of principle. Just my 2 cents worth.
Absolutely nothing against Jason and his fans, but I recently bought and installed a set of Love Jugs Cool Masters in Gloss Black, along with the frame and vibration mounts, and I love them!
I wired them into the accessory circuit so they run whenever the bike is running, and I also wired in a separate switch for the times I want to shut them off, without having to reach down and shut them off at the fans.
