I am having a hell of a time finding solutions to this. I've contacted fairingXchange. We will see what he can do. It looks like I can have it done locally and color matched for big bucks.

Does anyone happen to know if you can use a non-harley paint that looks as good or is so close it would hardly be noticeable? I would love to take the inner fairing off, and have it painted for a reasonable price.

Any other leads are more than welcome also. If you've had this done, let me know how and with who.
Thanks

I watched and bought a used inner fairing for cheap. Had it painted to match. Swapped at my convenience. The painted inner just finishes things off nice. And when riding its something you see constantly so makes you smile when it looks good.

....... the Blue on yer Ultra ought not be hard to match. I think it's PPG that has 'equivalent' colors. I got PPGs match for my '05's Yellow Pearl & had it sprayed by a local painter. i think it looks pretty good. Surely better than the flat black plastic i started with !!

If you've ever used anything containing silicone...ie Armor All, Back to Black...whatever...you'd better forget painting your OEM fairing...it WILL be a school of fisheyes when they shoot the paint!!! Just pony up and get a new inner fairing...agree with the comment that it may be difficult to match paint, so as such, OP may be better off having a local painter color match a new inner fairing.

I have the stock factory inner that came off my 2103 Street Glide with 12,000 miles. No scratches and all the brass inserts are in great shape. Switch cap included. Would sell it for $150.00. Shipping might be expensive due to its size. Since your in Indiana I could meet you at the state line. Let me know.

I took mine off myself over winter and took it in to have it painted. Turned out perfectly! Also put in the spun aluminum gauges while I had it apart... Really dressed up the fairing.

Thanks
Mine was painted two-tone and pinstriped (105th anniversary copper pearl and vivid black) all with non-HD paint and you can't tell the difference

Pulled my fairing apart over the winter when I wouldn't be riding. Took 3 hours to disassemble and the same time to put it back together. Took it to a local body shop and they painted it for about $240. Any decent body shop will have an instrument (camera) they can shoot the front of your fairing and get an exact color match.

I think Harley offers them for $800 or $900 bucks. Is there a cheaper option?

Any help is much appreciated.
paul is great I used him as well
