I don't know about compression bags, but I bought a SeatoSummit 20 liter dry bag at Cabela's. I put all my clothes in it. Then you roll the top over to seal it. I sit on it and squeeze all the air out. Fits perfectly in the saddlebag then. I have speaker lids and have been lazy about sealing them water tight, because I plan to upgrade. All my stuff stays dry though.
some of the bags are easily punctured, or the seams will let go over time.
so I gave up on them.
best to plan for how many days between laundry...
I change socks and underwear every day...but I can live in my jeans a week and maybe get a couple of days from a tshirt...and somehow i always end up with a new tshirt or 2 on a trip
sometimes travel with worn out stuff with intention of t shirt becomes cleaning rag become trash
BUT always carry spare shoes! I put socks or shaver inside

I use Gill gear. I have a 25L bag fits both mine and the ole ladies rain suit and fits well in one of the saddle bags. Gillnorthamerica.com Been using this stuff for a long time it holds up well.
I go the cheap route. you can buy large Ziploc bags that fit the bill perfectly. then when your trip is done, you can either store them or throw them away. 2 gallon freezer bags fit t shirts and underwear perfectly, and then they have the 'space bags' for closet storage if you need something bigger.
