Dog Carrier?
Dog Carrier?
Does anyone have any info or any ideas? I want to be able to bring my dog along for a ride. She is an 18 month old 50 pound Lab/Pit mix. She is high energy and the only way I get any peace at home is if I take her out and burn off that energy. This is seriously cutting into my riding time.

I run a Kuryakyn pet palace on my tourpak for the chihuahua, but that won't help you with a 50 lb'er. There is a carrier that will hold it on the rear seat, but it is costly....$800 costly! Other than that, make your own or sidecar.

I recently saw a smaller dog in a topbox (not a tourpak, but similar). There was a hole in the lid which it could poke it's head out of, or it could duck down out of sight. I've seen it several times and the dog seems to keep busy back there, popping up and down!

I just looked into this, because I have a 60 lb Golden Doodle cutting into my bike time. Only realistic options are $3,000 trailer or side car. Didn't look like fun for me or the dog.
I saw a homemade trailer, which looked inexpensive, but I think it would be torture behind my loud pipes.

I have an oversized Tourpack that actually resembles a dog carrier, I've only seen three of them. but we had 2 Min Pins at the time. The carrier alone weighed 45 lbs. not sure what way you want to go but try your Google-Fu and look up dog carriers (images) and see what other people are using. You already have a big dog so you're options are limited. A friend of mine bought a used carrier and had a body shop add about 18 inches to the middle so they can take their 2 big dogs with them. It actually turned out pretty cool after adding side windows. If I can find that pic I'll post it.
