I have an 08 RKC, in addition to the fangs I have a klockworks billboard flare windshield. The result - minimal buffeting. For the most part I sit in a quiet pocket of air - very nice!
I've had the "Fangs" on my 2010 103 Limited for about 6 years now.
HD says they "Don't Fit". They "Do Fit" with Hard Lowers.
I like em so much that I've never have taken them off, except for doing fork maintenance.
What I like most about the fangs is when riding in the rain, along with the hard lowers they really help keep you a lot dryer. I don't think I've stopped to put on rain pants since installing the Fangs. Also, they keep a lot of the rainwater from hitting you that used to come under the fairing. I also put a thick piece of auto door rubber trim in between the fangs and the forks to fill that 1/2 gap there.
It's been forty years since I smoke cigarettes, but if I did, running with my fairing air deflectors closed the air pocket on my EG is so calm that I could easily smoke while riding down the freeway now.
As for any additional heat caused by the less air flow from the front I run Love Jug cooling fans, which I also highly recommend.
Had the fangs on my 1992 FLHTCU ( with lowers ) and they would contact the lowers when turned to ( almost ) lock ...however they were "flexible" enough to not cause a stop to the steering
I installed the original Harley Davidson wind deflectors on my '17 Street Glide and the difference is nothing short of ASTOUNDING! Totally eliminates the wind coming up from around the tank which usually hits the chest and causes helmet buffeting. And they actually look really great. Have had many compliments on how they enhance the front of the bike. So far the best accessory I have purchased.
One more thing, with the chrome fangs mounted behind your turn signals on the front end, besides giving you a calm / dryer air pocket to ride in they also enhance the visibility of your front turn signals to oncoming drivers.
I run them all year even here in the desert. They keep the buffeting down and keep the heat off of mine and my wife's legs. I also added the baffle and it is even better.
